Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan and set heat to medium low, stirring often.
The mixture will be cloudy at first then as it heats up the sugar will dissolve and become clear.
When you see small bubbles on the side of the pan and the mixture has become clear, turn the heat off and let cool for about 1 hour.
Once cooled, transfer syrup to a food safe squeeze bottle or jar.
Add the syrup to your favorite drink and enjoy!
