Ingredients

  • 6 Eggs
  • 2 cups Cold Water
  • 1 cup ice

Instructions

For Hard Boiled:

  • Place the eggs in a medium or large pot (depending on how many you are cooking) and fill with enough cold water to cover the eggs.
  • Set the stove to medium high heat and let it come to a rolling boil
  • Then once boiling, turn the heat off and cover for 12 min.
  • While you wait for the eggs, grab a large bowl and fill halfway with ice and cold water.
  • When the timer goes off, carefully scoop out the eggs and place them in your bowl of ice and water.
  • Set a timer for 5 min to allow the eggs to cool down. This stops them from cooking longer.
  • Now you can peel the eggs and enjoy!
  • Can be kept in the fridge for approximately 1 week.

For Soft Boiled:

  • In a medium saucepan add enough water so it will cover the eggs once added.
  • Set the stove to medium high heat and let it come to a rolling boil.
  • Once the water is boiling, carefully add in the eggs one by one. I use a ladle to gently place them in.
  • Cover and let the eggs boil for 6 minutes.
  • After 6 minutes, turn the heat off and place the eggs in an ice water bath for 5 min. This stops them from cooking longer and keeps the gooey center.
  • Peel and enjoy when you are ready to eat! Eat these with your favorite ramen or marinate them to have with a bowl of rice.
