This refreshing drink is made in a pitcher and can be drank throughout the week.I love this in the spring and summertime!

This recipe was inspired from the Starbucks version of a sweetened iced green tea. I used to love getting this drink when it was warm outside and I wanted something other than water to quench my thirst. Then as prices started going up, I figured it was time to try and make this myself and I have never looked back. I was able to make more of this drink for less money it had cost to buy just one from the store.

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • Medium Pot: We use a 2-3 quart sized pot for this.
  • 2 qt Pitcher

Ingredients:

  • Green Tea Bags: 5 bags of green tea. We use the brand Bigelow.
  • Simple Syrup: We use our own homemade simple syrup. Super easy and the recipe can be found here
  • Water
  • Ice

How to make the Iced Green Tea:

  1. Pour the water into a medium pot and bring to a boil
  2. Once at a rolling boil, turn the heat off and move the pan to a cold area (another burner on the stove) or pour into a heat/food safe bowl (with spout) and add the tea bags to the water.
  3. Let the tea steep for 5 minutes.
  4. After 5 minutes, remove the tea bags and allow the tea to cool a bit.
  5. Once cooled, pour the tea into the pitcher and add ice to fill the remaining space.
  6. The green tea is concentrated so you will want to dilute when you make your drink.
  7. Grab your favorite cup, fill with some ice and pour the green tea about 2/3 of the way. Fill the remaining space with cold water.
  8. I like my iced green tea sweetened, and will add my homemade simple syrup.
  9. Stir, and enjoy!
